Online ad spending tops 10 trillion won for first time, broadcast ads shrink to 3.2 trillion
Broadcast advertising in South Korea continued to lose ground as online advertising extended its lead, a survey showed. Broadcast ad spending fell 5.0 percent in 2024 to 3.22 trillion won, while online ad spending rose 7.9 percent to 10.10 trillion won, topping 10 trillion won for the first time. Total advertising rose 3.5 percent to 17.13 trillion won, driven mostly by online. Mobile ad spending increased to 7.79 trillion won.
