France to halt certification of security products without post-quantum cryptography from 2027
France plans to phase out existing cryptographic systems to prepare for the era of quantum computers. From 2027 it will stop certifying security products that do not apply post-quantum cryptography, and by 2030 it aims to steer government agencies and critical infrastructure operators to adopt only quantum-resistant products. The move is linked to concerns about “Q-Day” and “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks, and is expected to accelerate quantum-risk discussions in blockchain and cryptocurrency.

XRP Ledger to add native zero-knowledge proof verification
XRP Ledger (XRPL) plans to natively support zero-knowledge proof verification. It has added a foundation to secure privacy required by institutions on public blockchains by linking with the zero-knowledge proof network Boundless. The move targets constraints that have hindered financial institutions from using public blockchains, where transaction flows and counterparties are exposed. XRPL aims to verify validity, funding and compliance while keeping amounts, senders and recipients off the public ledger.
