Ethereum layer2 Taiko chain state verification mechanism breached, $1.7 million loss
Ethereum-based layer2 network Taiko confirmed a breach of its chain state verification mechanism, The Block reported. Taiko said all bridges deployed on the protocol were no longer safe and strongly urged users to withdraw funds immediately. It asked centralized exchanges to suspend deposits of the Taiko native token until further notice. Taiko later said the exploit was blocked and withdrawals via its layer1 bridge and ERC20 vault were fully halted.

MetaMask launches crypto wallet for AI agents, supports autonomous trading
MetaMask has launched a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet designed for AI agents, The Block reported. The Agent Wallet supports autonomous trading in the Ethereum ecosystem, including swaps, perpetual futures, prediction markets and liquidity provision. Transactions are simulated and executed under user-set daily spending limits and allowlists. Blockaid scans for fraud and threats, with 2FA or email approval required for risky trades. Safe trades are covered up to $10,000.

StablR euro, dollar stablecoins depeg; key management failure, not smart contract bug
StablR-issued euro and dollar stablecoins lost their pegs after a hack, with private key theft cited as the likely cause. Blockchain security firm Blockaid said it detected an exploit targeting the issuer and that about $2.8 million has been drained so far. The attacker minted 8.35 million USDR and 4.5 million EURR after altering a weak 1-of-3 multisig setup. EURR and USDR later fell sharply, CoinGecko data showed.
