Boundless to support zero-knowledge proofs for Ethereum and Base using bitcoin
Boundless plans to develop a cross-chain verification system for zero-knowledge proofs and use bitcoin as a settlement layer for smart contract chains, The Block reported on Jan. 20. CEO Shiv Shankar said bitcoin would provide security for Ethereum-style execution and serve as the final verifier and settlement layer for ZKP. The system is to extend from the Ethereum mainnet and Base layer 2, and is based on BitVM proposed in 2023.
