JoyCity sets stage for turnaround on \'Biohazard\' hit, with two new games joining lineup

JoyCity\'s \'Biohazard Survival Unit\' tops 5 million global downloads
JoyCity said on Thursday its mobile strategy game \'Biohazard Survival Unit\', co-developed with Aniplex, has surpassed 5 million cumulative downloads globally. The game is based on Capcom\'s \'Biohazard\' intellectual property and was officially released in 151 countries in November. The company said continued popularity in existing markets and a formal launch in South Korea and Taiwan on Feb. 5 helped lift downloads.

Korean game industry to diversify genres in first-quarter releases
Major South Korean game companies plan to attack global markets in the first quarter with new titles across shooting, strategy, MMORPG, action RPG and casual genres, aiming to expand market share by catering to different user tastes. KRAFTON and JoyCity launch on Feb. 5, while NCSOFT follows with a Lineage classic service on Feb. 7. March brings Pearl Abyss’ open-world action RPG, Netmarble’s multi open-world title and Kakao Games’ fandom-style puzzle game.
