JoyCity said on Jan. 9 it will officially launch the mobile strategy game 'Biohazard Survival Unit', co-developed with Aniplex, in the South Korean and Taiwanese markets on Feb. 5.
'Biohazard Survival Unit' carries forward the world of Capcom's 'Biohazard' intellectual property series while featuring an original story set in a parallel world. Popular characters from the original work, including Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine, appear. The game features content that combines various modes and strategy, including single play and puzzles.
It was first released on Nov. 18 last year in 151 countries worldwide, including the United States and Japan, and has surpassed 4 million cumulative downloads. It ranked No. 1 among free popular titles on Google Play in the United States, and recorded No. 1 in popularity rankings on the App Store in more than 15 countries, including Japan, Britain, France and Germany.
Based on its global performance, JoyCity will expand service regions to South Korea and Taiwan on Feb. 5. It plans to provide the best service to sustain the earlier global momentum, as South Korea and Taiwan are markets with high awareness of the Biohazard IP and a solid base of strategy game users.
