Spain\'s largest bank Santander discloses $4.3 million investment in bitcoin ETF
Banco Santander, Spain\'s largest bank, disclosed it invested about $4.3 million in BlackRock’s spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund. The bank said in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it holds 129,615 shares of the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). The investment uses a spot bitcoin ETF rather than direct purchase or custody. The disclosure comes as competition among bitcoin ETFs intensifies and total U.S. bitcoin ETF assets continue to grow.
