BlackRock, Mastercard, Franklin Templeton add to big-money moves around XRPL

Global financial heavyweights including BlackRock, Mastercard and Franklin Templeton are reviewing potential uses of the XRP Ledger (XRPL), a blockchain outlet reported. Odellia Torteman of XRPL Commons said interest is growing. She said XRP serves as a core asset for transactions and payments and as a bridge asset for value transfers between different assets on the network. Ripple has disclosed pilots with partners, including tokenised fund and settlement tests using its RLUSD stablecoin.

Morgan Stanley eyes tokenised money market funds as next step after bitcoin ETF

Morgan Stanley is considering tokenised money market funds (MMFs) as its next digital asset strategy after launching a spot bitcoin ETF, CoinPost reported. Amy Oldenburg, head of digital asset strategy, described tokenised MMFs as the next major step on the firm’s product roadmap. The bank is also reviewing tokenisation across other asset classes and plans to start tokenised stock trading on its alternative trading system in the second half of 2026.

Wall Street\'s exposure to crypto assets has risen to record levels, but an analysis said the actual holders and money flows remain opaque. It tracked holdings using SEC 13F filings, corporate financial statements, tokenised assets, custody structures and on-chain OTC flows. The analysis said filings show ETF purchases but not investor intent, while corporate holdings vary by strategy. It also pointed to custody concentration and disclosure blind spots such as family offices and overseas entities.
