OpenAI launches GPT-5.6 and unveils ChatGPT Work
OpenAI on July 9 launched GPT-5.6, releasing three versions: Sol, Luna and Terra. Sol is the top-performance version, Luna focuses on speed and Terra is suited to everyday work. Sol supports an ultra mode that allocates more computing resources and can delegate tasks to multiple sub-models. OpenAI also launched ChatGPT Work, a GPT-5.6-based agent that gathers context across connected apps and files and creates work materials.

U.S. CISA uses Anthropic Mythos to audit government software
The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is using Anthropic\'s AI model Mythos to audit government software, Reuters reported, citing three sources. CISA is scanning government code repositories to find bugs that foreign spies or cybercriminals could exploit, the sources said. A CISA team is conducting the scans, and two sources said many vulnerabilities have already been found, without details. CISA and Anthropic did not respond to questions about the project.

OpenAI Deployment Company to acquire Northslope, boost FDE staffing
OpenAI Deployment Company has agreed to acquire applied AI company Northslope, Axios reported on Tuesday. Northslope is the second company OpenAI Deployment Company has acquired since launching in May, as it targets the enterprise agentic AI market. The acquisition will expand its field-deployed engineer workforce by several hundred to build AI systems alongside customers inside their organisations. Axios also said Anthropic has set up an AI services company to help mid-sized firms use Claude.
