Toyota CEO says company cannot survive without change as auto industry anxiety rises
Toyota is warning of a crisis in the auto industry and is pushing to relax production standards. CEO Koji Sato said at a recent supplier meeting that the company cannot survive as things stand. Automotive News reported he also said Toyota is fighting for survival. Toyota plans to ease strict quality standards for parts customers do not see and to reduce tooling requirements for suppliers.
