Kakao Games sets rebound push with five new games, targets return to profit in Q1 2027
Kakao Games is reorganising non-core businesses under a new co-CEO structure and concentrating on launching five new titles. The company reported second-quarter revenue of 75 billion won and an operating loss of 23 billion won, with revenue down year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter. It sees sales bottoming in the second and third quarters, expects a meaningful rebound from the fourth quarter, and aims to turn profitable in the first quarter of next year.

KakaoGames to publish PC MMORPG ArcheAge S globally
KakaoGames said on Sunday it has signed a global publishing agreement for ArcheAge S: The Sea of Freedom, a new PC massively multiplayer online role-playing game under development by XL Games. The company said the deal secures all domestic and global service rights for the title. The game is being built for a PC-only platform. KakaoGames and XL Games aim for an official launch next year and plan to step up development, marketing and launch preparations.
