Kakao Mobility, LG Innotek begin development of autonomous driving sensing solution
Kakao Mobility and LG Innotek are starting joint development of an autonomous driving solution, signing an MOU to cooperate on developing autonomous driving solutions. They aim to secure large-scale real-world driving data needed to advance autonomous driving technology by combining Kakao Mobility’s data collection infrastructure with LG Innotek’s sensing technology. LG Innotek will develop an integrated sensing solution using camera, radar and LiDAR modules, while Kakao Mobility will apply it to its AI data pipeline.

LG Innotek, Applied Intuition expand physical AI cooperation
LG Innotek is expanding the scope of its physical AI cooperation with Applied Intuition. The company said its chief executive Moon Hyuk-soo (문혁수) met Applied Intuition co-founder and CEO Qasar Younis (Qasar Younis) at its Magok headquarters in Seoul on April 30. The companies reviewed progress in autonomous driving cooperation and discussed collaboration in physical AI fields such as robots and drones, including joint responses and promotion plans for key customers.

LG Innotek partners with U.S. software firm to target physical AI
LG Innotek said on Monday it has signed a strategic partnership with U.S.-based autonomous driving software and simulation company Applied Intuition. The companies plan to jointly develop solutions combining autonomous driving sensing modules and software, and to expand cooperation beyond self-driving into drones and robots. LG Innotek will collect real-world driving data in the United States, Europe and Japan using Applied Intuition test vehicles. It also plans on-road testing in South Korea.
