Synopsys to end semiconductor manufacturing process control software to focus resources on AI design
Synopsys will stop selling semiconductor manufacturing process control software, Reuters reported on July 7, citing six sources familiar with the matter. The move is part of an effort to focus resources on higher-margin businesses such as AI design. Synopsys notified about 10 chipmakers including Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, Kioxia and Corvo in April and May, and will not provide new versions while continuing maintenance obligations.

Synopsys unveils Silicon-to-Systems vision after Ansys acquisition
Synopsys presented a new product development approach as AI spreads across physical products such as cars, medical devices and industrial equipment. The semiconductor design software company said it unveiled its Silicon-to-Systems vision after acquiring engineering simulation company Ansys. Synopsys said the approach connects decisions made in chip design to system-level outcomes and reflects limits of sequential development. It added that shift-left verification, AI-assisted design and evolving digital twins are gaining importance.

Ansys Korea holds industry-tailored simulation AI solution seminar
Ansys Korea held an \"Industry-Tailored Simulation AI Solution Seminar\" on Jan. 22 at COEX in Seoul to share strategies for applying AI based on engineering simulation. Six sessions covered approaches spanning product design to manufacturing, workflows using Ansys optiSLang, automation using PyAnsys, virtual training data generation and data fusion, near real-time digital twins using reduced-order models, and a machine-learning haemodynamics model using 4D Flow MRI data.
