Synopsys, which acquired global engineering simulation company Ansys, is showcasing automotive engineering solutions using AI-based and virtualisation technology at CES 2026 in Las Vegas from Jan. 6 to 9.

Synopsys also unveiled various application examples and collaboration results at the event to accelerate development of software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

It introduced an integrated engineering environment that virtualises the entire vehicle electronics and software development process. It aims to reduce development complexity and costs while enabling system performance and reliability to be predicted and verified in advance.

Ravi Subramanian, Synopsys' chief product management officer, said the rise of software-defined mobility and the adoption of in-vehicle AI are requiring a fundamental shift in automotive engineering. He said Synopsys is helping automakers innovate at the pace required by software-centric intelligent platforms. He said virtualising design, integration and prototyping helps customers speed development, cut costs and time to start of production, and deliver next-generation performance and safety.
