Apple to source more iPhone parts in US, spend $100 million on titanium for foldable iPhone Duo
Apple is expanding U.S. sourcing for key materials and components used in the iPhone 18 Pro and its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. The company said it will secure new partners through its U.S. Manufacturing Program and source about 100 parts from firms in at least 12 U.S. states. Apple will invest up to $100 million over three years to support titanium production by Pennsylvania-based Perryman and said the titanium includes at least 80 percent recycled material.

Arm AGI CPU Korea partners take shape; Samsung supplies memory, Amkor to cooperate on OSAT
Arm’s partnership framework with South Korean companies for its AGI CPU is taking shape, with Samsung Electronics focused on supplying memory and Amkor Technology confirmed as an OSAT partner, an Arm executive said. Arm supports only DDR5 memory for the AGI CPU, limiting near-term direct benefits for SK Hynix’s HBM products, though broader adoption of agentic AI infrastructure could lift DDR5 demand.

IST E to supply sorters to SK Hynix M15X line
IST E said on Thursday it signed a contract with SK Hynix to supply semiconductor automation equipment worth 4.4 billion won, or 10.68 percent of its 2024 annual revenue. The equipment, a sorter, supports automated wafer handling in clean semiconductor production lines. The company said the sorter will be applied to SK Hynix\'s new M15X line, which is expected to begin operations this year. Delivery is due by Oct. 1, 2026.
