Arm AGI CPU Korea partners take shape; Samsung supplies memory, Amkor to cooperate on OSAT

IST E to supply sorters to SK Hynix M15X line
IST E said on Thursday it signed a contract with SK Hynix to supply semiconductor automation equipment worth 4.4 billion won, or 10.68 percent of its 2024 annual revenue. The equipment, a sorter, supports automated wafer handling in clean semiconductor production lines. The company said the sorter will be applied to SK Hynix\'s new M15X line, which is expected to begin operations this year. Delivery is due by Oct. 1, 2026.

South Korea foreign investment hits record high, U.S. investment jumps 86 percent
South Korea’s foreign direct investment (FDI) reached a record $36.05 billion last year, up 4.3 percent, the government said. Executed investment rose 16.3 percent to $17.95 billion. U.S. inflows jumped 86.6 percent to $9.77 billion, while EU investment rose 35.7 percent. Japan and China declined. Greenfield investment hit a record $28.59 billion, while M&A fell 5.1 percent.
