Nextrade to temporarily ban limit-up and limit-down orders in pre-market from Aug. 12

Nextrade will temporarily ban limit-up and limit-down orders in its pre-market from Aug. 12 after repeated cases in which extreme prices were executed on small orders. It plans to add a static volatility interruption mechanism from Sept. 14 to reduce sharp price swings. Nextrade said some extreme-price executions are believed to have stemmed from errors in the order-processing process. It will also change how volatility interruptions are triggered and monitor for abnormal signs.
