AhnLab supports N2SF deployment at National Research Foundation for generative AI, internet use on work network

AhnLab said on Sunday it built a security system at the National Research Foundation of Korea to enable use of generative AI and the internet within its work network under the Korea Internet & Security Agency’s 2026 National Network Security Framework (N2SF) support project. As lead firm of a consortium, AhnLab has worked with MoniterLab, Dream Security and SecureOne since June. The system applies N2SF models for generative AI and internet use, and uses graded controls for data transfers.

SK Telecom, Upstage launch sovereign AI cybersecurity council with security firms and universities

SK Telecom said it has launched a sovereign AI cybersecurity council with Upstage, South Korean security companies and universities, and signed an agreement to cooperate on AI information security technology. The initiative aims to expand SKT’s A.X K series and Upstage’s Solar, which advanced to stage 3 of the government’s sovereign AI foundation model project, into cybersecurity. Participants will train the models on real-world security data, validate safety and apply them to security products and services.

AhnLab A-FIRST researcher Lee Jung-wook wins encouragement award at Korean cryptanalysis competition

AhnLab said on Tuesday that its REPO team, which included a researcher from its threat intelligence analysis team A-FIRST, won an encouragement award at an awards ceremony for the 12th 2026 Cryptanalysis Competition held in Seoul on Sept. 21. The annual competition is jointly hosted and sponsored by the Korea Institute of Information Security and Cryptology and the ROK Army 777 Command. Participants competed across eight areas.
