Canva acquires animation and advertising AI startups
Canva said on Feb. 24 it has acquired Calvary, a four-person startup that offers subscription-based motion graphics software, and MangoAI, which specialises in technology for making advertising videos. Canva plans to use the two firms’ technology to compete with Adobe After Effects. It will integrate Calvary into its platform and the Affinity app for professional designers. MangoAI will be built into Canva Grow.
