LG Electronics steps up companywide AI work innovation drive, selects 5 projects at hackathon
LG Electronics said it held its first-half AX hackathon to identify work-innovation tasks using AI. About 2,100 employees took part and submitted more than 700 ideas. After two months of screening and verification, the company selected five projects, including a 24-hour autonomous work system for software development. Other projects aim to automate packaging design, improve logistics and SCM analysis, cut administrative work time and generate advertising content.

Woori Financial Group to train young IT talent with eight affiliates
Woori Financial Group has been selected as an operator of the Labour Ministry-led K-New Deal Academy. It plans to provide training in digital jobs such as AI and big data for unemployed young people and to offer scholarships to vulnerable youths. Woori Financial said it will recruit trainees for the WooriWON Youth IT Academy until Aug. 2. Eight group affiliates will participate, and 60 trainees will receive 600 hours of training over about four months.

Korea finance sector backs youth employment with AI finance training
Korea\'s finance sector is moving to train young people in AI finance skills through the government\'s K-New Deal Academy. KB Kookmin Bank is recruiting trainees for its KB-Bridge program aimed at unemployed youth outside the Seoul metropolitan area, offering a five-month curriculum and allowances. Woori Financial Group plans to launch the WooriWON Youth IT Academy in August, with eight affiliates participating in job training and mentoring.
