Draft audiovisual media services act unveiled, covering OTT and big YouTubers
South Korea\'s National Assembly plans a sweeping overhaul of the media regulatory framework, its first since the 2000 integrated broadcasting law. A draft tentatively titled the Audiovisual Media Services Act would unify media under a single category and regulate by content arrangement and social impact, not transmission method. It would include OTT services, platforms, general channels and big YouTubers, and consider requiring global OTT operators to disclose financial status to improve market transparency.
