POSCO Future M restores biodiversity at Naengcheon stream in Pohang

POSCO Future M carried out employee volunteer work on April 22 to help restore the ecosystem of Naengcheon stream in Pohang. About 40 employees and family members made seed balls by mixing loess and seeds and threw them across the area, which is being restored after typhoon damage in 2022. The activity was part of the company’s “Future M Nature Guard Day” programme aimed at biodiversity restoration and environmental clean-up.

Trump remarks, institutional buying fuel $540 million crypto derivatives liquidations

Bitcoin jumped to the $74,000 range, triggering $540 million in liquidations in the crypto derivatives market, with losses concentrated in short positions. CoinGlass data showed 169,525 traders were liquidated, and shorts accounted for $440 million, or 81 percent, of the total. Bitcoin led by token in liquidations. Prices of major cryptocurrencies also rose. The rally was linked to expectations of easing geopolitical tensions and institutional buying, including Strategy’s additional purchases.

Aster DEX ends monthly linear token unlocks, distributes only via staking rewards

Decentralised exchange Aster is ending its monthly linear token unlock mechanism, under which it released ecosystem tokens at a fixed rate each month. The platform had been unlocking about 78.4 million tokens, around 1 percent of the maximum supply, on a monthly basis. Under the new approach, it will distribute about 450,000 ASTER tokens a week, or roughly 1.8 million to 2.25 million a month, solely as staking rewards.
