[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Decentralised exchange (DEX) Aster is scrapping a monthly linear unlock that released tokens at the same rate each month. It will shift to distributing tokens only as staking rewards.
Aster has discontinued its previous approach of linearly unlocking about 78.4 million ecosystem tokens each month, or about 1 percent of the maximum supply. Under the new system, about 450,000 ASTER tokens a week (about 1.8 million to 2.25 million a month) will be distributed only as staking rewards. This structure sharply reduces new circulating supply compared with before.
Aster said that since the token generation event (TGE) in September 2025, ecosystem and community tokens have not been used for purposes other than staking rewards, and that the related addresses can be confirmed on-chain.
