SKT\'s A.X K2 proves real-world competitiveness beyond technical capabilities

SK Telecom passed the second-stage evaluation of the government\'s project for an \"independent AI foundation model,\" gaining recognition for its in-house AI technology. The Ministry of Science and ICT said the review combined benchmark, expert and user assessments, with greater weight on practical application and adoption. An expert panel rated A.X K2 highly for mathematical reasoning and Korean, its use in large commercial services, and its breadth of industry use cases.

KT accelerates AI-based distribution AX with NongHyup Agri Holdings and Microsoft

KT said on Aug. 18 it signed a memorandum of understanding with NongHyup Agri Holdings and Microsoft Korea to drive AI and cloud-based distribution AX innovation. The cooperation follows KT’s public cloud migration project for NongHyup Agri Holdings’ agricultural online mall, NH Sing Sing Mall, which moved systems, infrastructure, network and security to Microsoft Azure and began service in July. The partners plan AI-based customer service, data-driven marketing and agentic AI services.

KT, Seoul National University Hospital to build medical AX platform

KT will work with Seoul National University Hospital to build a medical AI transformation (AX) platform, signing a memorandum of understanding in Seoul on Aug. 17. The two sides will jointly pursue a standard model for the platform, verification and advancement of government policy projects such as AI-native hospitals, AI-based clinical decision support and work efficiency, and broader expansion into the healthcare market. KT will take part across planning, development, validation and commercialisation.
