Google Workspace integrates Gemini, boosting AI-driven work automation
Google is integrating Gemini across Workspace, TechCrunch reported on March 18. The update adds features including document summarisation, email organisation and schedule management. In Google Docs, Gemini can summarise documents and generate drafts, with added options to match writing style or apply formats. Gmail adds an AI inbox to filter low-priority mail and create summaries and replies. Sheets, Slides, Meet, Drive, Calendar and Chat also gain new AI functions.

Perplexity halts advertising, citing risk to user trust and priority on accurate answers
AI search startup Perplexity has stopped its advertising business, the Financial Times reported on Feb. 18. Perplexity introduced ads in 2024 and tested sponsored answers beneath chatbot responses, but has gradually scaled them back since late last year. Executives said ads can undermine user trust even if they do not affect answers. OpenAI and Google have moved to test or introduce ads, while Anthropic has said it will not.

Cafe24 upgrades SEO to tackle zero-click shift to AI search
Cafe24 said it has upgraded its SEO services to help online businesses respond to an AI-led shift in search and improve competitiveness in search exposure in global markets. It introduced llms.txt to structure shopping mall information for AI search engines and automatically generate and optimise key data. Cafe24 also reinforced international SEO, including language-specific metadata optimisation, country-specific search settings and automatic hreflang management for multilingual product pages.
