Google to fully open Android Automotive OS in bigger push into software-defined vehicles
Google is expanding its in-vehicle operating system, Android Automotive OS (AAOS), as it targets the software-defined vehicle (SDV) market. The Verge reported on March 24 that Google unveiled an expanded SDV platform called \"AAOS SDV\" and said it would switch it to open source. The update broadens AAOS beyond infotainment to cover in-car computer systems and integrate major vehicle functions, while improving OTA updates and other features.
