Legal AI startup Harvey to acquire Hexus, accelerating market expansion
Legal AI startup Harvey will acquire Hexus, which develops tools for producing product demos and videos, TechCrunch reported on Jan. 24. The acquisition terms were not disclosed. Hexus previously raised $1.6 million from Pear VC, Liquid 2 Ventures and angel investors. The deal is part of Harvey’s strategy to strengthen its position in the legal AI market. Harvey raised an additional $160 million last year at an $8 billion valuation.

OCC chief says to review World Liberty Financial bank charter application
The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has rejected a request from Senator Elizabeth Warren and will review crypto firm World Liberty Financial's application for a bank charter under existing regulatory standards, Cointelegraph reported on Friday. OCC head Jonathan Gould said the review would be thorough regardless of political or personal interests. World Liberty Financial applied on Jan. 7 to handle issuance, custody and exchange of its USD1 stablecoin in-house.

AI scientist Yann LeCun has founded AMI Labs after leaving Meta and is moving to develop next-generation AI systems. The lab aims to build “world models” to create intelligent systems that understand reality. TechCrunch reported the company recently launched its website.
