NH Investment & Securities posts 2025 operating profit of 1.42 trillion won, up 57.7 percent

NH Investment & Securities said on Jan. 29 it posted record annual results in 2025, with operating profit of 1.42 trillion won and net profit of 1.03 trillion won. Operating profit rose 57.7 percent from a year earlier and net profit increased 50.2 percent, opening what it called an era of 1 trillion won net profit. It set a goal of building a sustainable 12 percent RoE by 2028, backed by tighter links across business units and AI-driven innovation.

KakaoGames overhauls Chrono Odyssey combat system, releases fourth developer note

KakaoGames on Jan. 29 unveiled the development direction for the combat system in its new game Chrono Odyssey. The update, introduced in a fourth developer note on the official Steam page, reflects feedback from a global closed test last year. Key changes include improved character controls independent of camera direction, more intuitive attack detection, a guard-crush defense mechanic, and a redesigned consumables system featuring rechargeable healing, long-duration food buffs and new special potions.

Abu Dhabi firm launches first U.S. dollar stablecoin registered in UAE

Abu Dhabi Universal Digital has launched USDU, a U.S. dollar-based stablecoin after completing registration with the UAE central bank, Cointelegraph reported on Jan. 29. Cointelegraph said USDU is the first foreign payment token in the UAE to comply with the central bank’s payment token service rules and to be officially registered. The firm is under dual regulation and must meet standards for reserves, governance, disclosures and operational controls.
