Woori Bank held a sports experience event for people with developmental disabilities in the North Jeolla region and their guardians.
Woori Bank said on Wednesday it held a “Sports One-Day Class” on Aug. 12 at the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Welfare Center for the Disabled.
About 400 people took part, including workers with developmental disabilities employed at “Goodwill Store,” a social contribution project of Woori Financial Group, along with people with developmental disabilities in the region and their guardians.
Participants included baseball commentator Kyung-hyun Ahn (안경현), basketball commentator Seung-hyun Kim (김승현) and dancer Leehai (리헤이) as one-day instructors. Attendees were split by sport and tried activities such as batting, dribbling and choreography movements.
The instructors donated personal items to Goodwill Store, which supports job creation for people with developmental disabilities.
Min-woo Hong (홍민우), deputy head of Woori Bank’s social contribution department, said, “We organised this event to energise people with developmental disabilities, who have relatively fewer opportunities for physical activity, and to share the values of inclusion with the local community through sports.”
