Missouri renews push for bitcoin strategic reserve bill

Missouri is reviving a bill to establish a strategic bitcoin reserve as it seeks to use cryptocurrency in public finances, Cointelegraph reported on Sunday. The Missouri House has referred the measure to the House Commerce Committee. The bill would allow the state government to hold bitcoin and accept taxes and fees paid in cryptocurrency. Holdings would be maintained for five years, after which the state could sell or convert them into other assets.

JPMorgan acknowledges closing Trump's accounts after U.S. Capitol riot, says not for political reasons

JPMorgan closed U.S. President Donald Trump's accounts after the Jan. 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol riot, Cointelegraph reported on Sunday. Dan Wilkening, a former chief administrative officer at JPMorgan, said in court filings that the bank notified Trump’s side in February 2021 it would close certain accounts. Trump filed a $5 billion damages lawsuit, alleging the closures were politically motivated. JPMorgan denied this.

AD Technology to develop custom chiplet solutions for Europe with German research institute

AD Technology said on Feb. 23 it will pursue a strategic technology partnership with Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (Fraunhofer IIS) to jointly develop 4-nanometre-class process-based SoC and chiplet solutions. The company said the work targets rising demand for customised semiconductors in Europe. It plans to combine Fraunhofer IIS's system and algorithm design expertise with its own ASIC design and process optimisation capabilities.
