Shinsegae Group pushes retail AI innovation with Reflection AI, halts OpenAI talks

Shinsegae Group is pursuing a project with U.S. artificial intelligence firm Reflection AI to apply AI across retail operations such as product sourcing, inventory management and customer management. The group said it is accelerating an advanced AI retail innovation drive and last month agreed via an MOU in San Francisco to build and jointly operate an AI data centre. It said E-Mart will be the first to roll out the AI-based retail initiative, and it will halt collaboration talks with OpenAI.

Google releases 2025 Ads Safety Report; 175.5 million inappropriate ads removed in South Korea

Google released its 2025 Ads Safety Report on Thursday, outlining its ad-blocking results. The company said it blocked or removed more than 8.3 billion inappropriate ads worldwide last year, suspended 24.9 million advertiser accounts and took action against more than 245,000 publisher sites that violated policies. In South Korea, it removed 175.5 million ads and suspended 326,000 advertiser accounts.

KAIT launches council to boost used device market, create communication channel

Korea Association for Information and Communication Technology Promotion (KAIT) said it launched a council with used device distributors to help revitalise the used device industry. The council will share industry trends, promote the sector and seek joint responses to difficulties faced by businesses. It will also work to improve and expand a certification programme for safe used-device traders and a service that confirms used-device transaction records, which the ministry and KAIT have operated since last May.
