Asset manager Strive bought an additional 1,800 bitcoin last week, becoming the world’s fifth-largest bitcoin holder among listed companies.

Cointelegraph reported on Aug. 31 that the purchase lifted Strive’s total bitcoin holdings to 23,156 BTC.

Strive bought bitcoin from Aug. 24 to 28, spending about $143 million. The average purchase price was $79,431 per bitcoin, including fees and related costs. CEO Matt Cole (맷 콜) also confirmed the purchase on X, formerly Twitter, on Aug. 31.

Strive held 21,356 BTC before the latest transaction. The company also bought 1,110 bitcoin the previous week for about $81.5 million, at an average purchase price of $73,409. It has increased the scale of its accumulation for 2 consecutive weeks, rapidly expanding its bitcoin treasury strategy.

The market is focusing on the pace of Strive’s purchases. Saturn Credit adviser Adam Livingston (애덤 리빙스턴) pointed out that the latest purchase increased Strive’s bitcoin holdings by about 8.4 percent in 5 trading days. The company also climbed in the ranking among listed-company holders after sharply increasing its holdings in a short period.

Industry tallies showed Strive rose to fifth among listed companies in bitcoin holdings, overtaking Bullish, a cryptocurrency exchange and digital asset infrastructure company.

The accumulation came alongside a recent rebound in bitcoin and digital asset markets. Bitcoin and other risk assets began to rebound after the U.S. Treasury announced on Aug. 19 plans to double the size of buybacks for some long-term bonds. The move lowered U.S. Treasury yields, and bitcoin later rose more than 23 percent, topping $81,000 at one point in August.

Strategy, the world’s largest corporate bitcoin holder, also resumed buying bitcoin after a 2-month pause. Strategy bought an additional 4,603 BTC at an average price of $80,318, lifting its total holdings back above 845,000 BTC.

Strategy has sold bitcoin 4 times since May. The resumption of buying shows that companies’ bitcoin treasury strategies are expanding again amid the recent market rebound. The next focus is whether Strive will continue buying and how long corporate buying will last alongside the market rebound.
