SK Shieldus said on Thursday that physical security brand ADT Caps is strengthening its AI Safety Care service by combining AI technology applied to its Caps Home home security service with its nationwide security infrastructure.
Caps Home is expanding its role into a safety-care service that looks after families' daily lives beyond simply protecting the home.
Caps Home provides AI face-recognition-based return-home alerts so users can check on family safety. It also detects suspicious people loitering or attempted intrusions, beyond simple video monitoring.
The company said it has also increased the level of privacy protection for neighbors with an AI automatic masking function that automatically blurs faces in recorded video.
ADT Caps plans to expand the safety-care area based on AI technology applied to Caps Home. It plans to further develop the service so it can meet a range of everyday safety needs, including detecting unusual signs among seniors living alone, safety care for infants and children, and safety services for single-person households.
An ADT Caps official said what customers want today is an integrated service that provides peace of mind for families' daily lives beyond simply protecting the home. The official said the company will continue to provide differentiated residential safety services by combining on-device AI technology with ADT Caps' nationwide dispatch infrastructure.
