Sooho IO partners with Partior on cross-border payment cooperation

[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Sooho IO, a blockchain-based financial infrastructure company, said on Aug. 26 it has partnered with global settlement network Partior to build cross-border payment and settlement infrastructure.

Partior is a network that settles cross-border transactions in real time based on the U.S. dollar, Singapore dollar and euro, with shareholders including DBS, JPMorgan and Standard Chartered.

Under the agreement, Sooho IO's payment and settlement platform, Sooho PartnerHub, will enable settlement of cross-border multi-currency payments on Partior’s tokenised deposit network.

Sooho PartnerHub is a software-as-a-service platform that supports companies and institutions in using tokenised deposits and various digital assets to make remittances, payments and investments without building complex infrastructure. It is scheduled for an official launch in September. It supports 25 currencies in 125 countries and also provides tokenised stock and gold trading functions.

The two companies plan to use the agreement to provide an institutional-grade channel that allows domestic financial institutions to expand existing payment infrastructure into global markets.

Sooho IO CEO Ji-soo Park (박지수) said, "It is meaningful that we confirmed points of contact on both the technology and business sides with Partior, which is rewriting global financial rules, and came to sign this agreement." He added, "Together with domestic commercial banks, we will complete a global financial pipeline that can clear and settle tokenised deposits in the fastest and safest way in a strict regulatory compliance environment."
