SK Hynix was selected as an outstanding company for a third consecutive year for supporting the safety and health of partner firms. SK Hynix said on Wednesday it was chosen as an outstanding company for 2025 in the “Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Programme for Large and Small and Midsize Firms” hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. Its Icheon and Cheongju sites won at the same time. It marks three straight years of results since the programme was introduced in 2023.
The Cheongju site was designated a “self-compliance site” after winning for a third consecutive year. The company stressed its partner firms’ safety and health management capabilities were officially recognised.
SK Hynix runs a “win-win cooperation consortium” to address small partner firms’ lack of safety and health know-how and limits in applying it on site. It conducts coaching-style consulting, risk assessment training and on-site improvement activities. It provided guidelines that partner firms can carry out directly and linked them to improvements in actual risk factors.
In 2019, it established the Work Environment Health Center, a public interest foundation authorised by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. It expanded the scope of safety and health support to include local small and midsize firms as well as partner companies. It is being evaluated as a public interest model that spreads a safety culture across the community beyond company-level safety management.
A SK Hynix official said, “Strengthening partners’ safety and health capabilities is key to supply chain stability and sustainable safety management,” and added, “We will continue to enhance a differentiated support model tailored to industry and scale.”
