Samsung Electro-Mechanics' Busan site won an award from the Minister of Employment and Labor after its achievements in supporting safety and health at partner companies were recognised. The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency held an awards ceremony for the 2025 large-small business safety and health cooperation programme on Feb. 25 at Peace & Park Convention in Seoul's Yongsan district. They selected 32 companies, including Samsung Electro-Mechanics, as outstanding firms.

The large-small business safety and health cooperation programme is an initiative in which large companies and small businesses work together to build and expand safety and health management systems. Samsung Electro-Mechanics has participated in the programme since 2023.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics provided tailored support for 20 internal and external partner companies and local small firms. It dispatched in-house experts by area, including risk assessment, electrical safety, firefighting and safety and health. It also carried out risk assessment and workplace environment improvement advisory work through professional consulting organisations. The company held safety and health seminars focused on recent issues such as the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the right to stop work, and supported 26 items of essential on-site safety and health supplies.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics' Busan site is the largest employment site in the Busan area, with about 5,000 employees. Samsung Electro-Mechanics is fostering the Busan site as a key production base for core components in line with the expansion of markets for AI and automotive electronic components.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics also runs cooperation programmes to promote shared growth with partner firms beyond safety and health support. It provides funds for a cooperation fund and for building smart factories. It also carries out on-site improvement activities such as productivity gains, quality innovation and safety environment work. The company is conducting capability-building training in professional skills and tailored programmes by job level.

Vice President Hae-seok Jung (정해석) said, "The safety of partner companies and local communities is a core value directly linked to Samsung Electro-Mechanics' competitiveness." He said, "We will continue to do our best to create a shared-growth ecosystem where all stakeholders, including partner companies, can work with peace of mind."
