Woori Bank CEO Jung Jin-wan (정진완) joined the "lifesaving finance" relay campaign to support financially vulnerable groups and prevent damage from illegal private lending.

Woori Bank said on Aug. 12 that Jung took part in the "lifesaving finance" relay campaign launched by the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency.

"Lifesaving finance" is a public-interest campaign set up to protect financially vulnerable people struggling with illegal private lending and to spread the value of inclusive finance. It was started in July by Kim Eun-kyung (김은경), head of the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency.

Jung joined the campaign after being nominated by Cho Yong-byung (조용병), chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks. He nominated Kang Tae-young (강태영), CEO of NH Nonghyup Bank, and Yoon Ho-young (윤호영), CEO of KakaoBank, as the next participants.

Jung said, "We will continue to actively practice inclusive finance that helps and saves financially vulnerable groups and take the lead in supporting inclusive finance."
