LG CNS said on Tuesday it has completed the buildout of Dong-A Socio Group's "AI drug discovery platform" with DAI, an IT affiliate of Dong-A Socio Group.

Built over about 6 months, the platform integrates drug research data and uses AI to support key research processes from candidate discovery to design and validation.

LG CNS integrated and standardised research data that had been scattered across sources such as compound and genome information, experiment results, papers and patents. Researchers can use needed data on a single platform and access AI analysis and prediction functions.

In the stage of identifying the causes of disease, the platform supports target discovery by analysing gene information by cell and location information within tissues. In the candidate design stage, generative AI designs compound structures that meet specified conditions. In the validation stage, simulations predict the likelihood of binding between candidates and targets and the stability of effects, among other factors.

It also applies a function that retrains models by linking AI prediction results with actual experimental data. It is designed to improve AI prediction performance as more research data accumulates.

LG CNS also established a management system that can respond to regulatory and security requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, given the sensitivity of drug research data.

LG CNS is expanding its AX business in the pharmaceutical and bio sectors, including participation in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "K-AI drug discovery preclinical and clinical model development project" and development of an agentic AI-based quality assessment report writing service for Chong Kun Dang.
