Shinhan Bank will provide vehicles to 16 shelters nationwide to support travel for abused children for treatment, counselling and commuting to and from school.

Shinhan Bank said it will recruit participating institutions for its vehicle support programme, Shinhan Safe Car, with the Community Chest of Korea and Good Neighbors from the 10th.

Shinhan Safe Car is a social contribution programme that provides vehicles to shelters for abused children so that children under protection can use them to visit medical institutions or psychological therapy facilities, commute to and from school, and take part in cultural experience activities. The programme was previously called Shinhan-SOL Mate.

In its sixth round this year, the programme will select 16 shelters for abused children and provide 16 vehicles in total, one per institution.

Applications can be submitted from Aug. 10 to Sept. 7 through Good Neighbors' social contribution project contest platform, THE Good Partner.

A Shinhan Bank official said, "Vehicles at shelters for abused children are an important means of transport that connects the children's treatment, counselling, education and daily life," adding, "We hope this will provide practical help for abused children to use various protection and recovery services in a safe environment."
