[Digital Today reporter Shin-hye Ahn] Woowa Brothers said on Feb. 26 it will revamp the names of services for Baedal Minjok’s partner merchants.

The changes take effect on the day. The goal is to improve the names of Baemin services used by partners to match current delivery methods, purposes and structures.

The company said there have been opinions that it was not easy to immediately recognise which services names such as Baemin1Plus, Open List and Baemin Takeout Orders connected to. It also said there was criticism that the distinction between essential services and optional additional advertising was not intuitive.

Baemin said the revamp will split partner services into “order types” and “advertising.” Previously, services used by Baemin partners were grouped under a single category of “advertising products.” The change clearly separates essential services needed to receive orders from advertising products for additional exposure. It is intended to make it easier for partners to understand and choose at a glance.

Order types are services that stores basically use to receive orders on Baemin. Advertising refers to products that partners who want additional exposure for their stores can choose and use voluntarily. The names of each service under order types will be changed to match the actual delivery method. Baemin1Plus will become Baemin Delivery, Open List will become Store Delivery, and Baemin Takeout Orders will become Pickup.

The company expects that guidance distinguishing the functions and roles of each service will improve partners’ understanding and convenience.

It also believes the partner service names, aligned with services offered to consumers, will help partners establish efficient store operation strategies.

The changed partner service names will be applied to the Baemin Food Service Plaza website, self-service, publications and terms of use. Baemin plans to continue providing guidance by revising its guidelines in line with the revamp. The change applies only to service names and classifications.

A Baemin official said, "We carried out this naming revamp to minimise confusion when using the services and to help partners focus on store operations and expanding sales." The official added, "We will continue to build a consistent service system that is easy to understand from the partner’s perspective."
