LG Uplus will unveil next-generation security technologies at MWC26 to respond to cyber threats becoming more sophisticated as AI spreads.

LG Uplus said on Wednesday it will showcase at MWC26 in Barcelona next month an AI anomaly-detection-based cloud integrated account management solution AlphaKey, homomorphic encryption set to be applied to its AI calling app ixi-O, optical transmission equipment using post-quantum cryptography (PQC) technology, and its next-generation security platform U+SASE.

AlphaKey uses AI to learn access and behaviour patterns of users and administrators by customer company and detects abnormal access and attempts to leak internal information in real time. It comprehensively analyses login location, device used, working hours and access history. If it detects unusual access, it automatically blocks it or requires additional authentication.

It will also disclose homomorphic encryption technology. Homomorphic encryption makes it possible to store, compute and search data while it remains encrypted. It also enables data processing without decryption. Existing methods required decryption during use, creating a risk of exposing plaintext data, but homomorphic encryption keeps data encrypted so that even in hacking or leakage situations the contents cannot be interpreted. LG Uplus plans to apply the technology to ixi-O in the future.

It will also showcase PQC optical transmission equipment. Post-quantum cryptography is a next-generation encryption technology designed based on mathematical problems that are difficult to solve even with quantum computers. LG Uplus implemented an integrated interface that supports all of the latest algorithms presented by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and South Korea's KpqC research group for post-quantum cryptography.

It will introduce to visitors the U+SASE platform, which it said it is building and developing for the first time in South Korea. U+SASE is a service that integrates networking and security. It monitors external access routes in real time on a single platform and improved security operations efficiency. It also includes generative AI security functions, providing automatic filtering of risky prompts, masking of sensitive information and AI-based information leakage prevention features.

Ju Eom-gae (주엄개), head of LG Uplus' wired business who is an executive director, said, "As AI-based hacking threats grow, the goal is to provide security technology that customers can feel most at ease with." He added, "We will continue to advance our technologies so we can provide security services that customers can trust and use."
