Netmarble Cultural Foundation said on Thursday it appointed Netmarble Chief Financial Officer Do Giuk as its new chief executive, succeeding former head Kim Seong-cheol. Under the appointment, Do will concurrently oversee Netmarble’s finance operations and lead the foundation.
Do is a finance specialist who served as Netmarble CFO from 2017 to 2022. From 2022 to 2023, he jointly led overall management as a co-CEO alongside then-CEO Kwon Young-sik. He returned as CFO in 2024 and has overseen finance work.
Launched in 2018, Netmarble Cultural Foundation has been headed by key group executives, including Coway CEO Seo Jang-won and former Netmarble global chief Lee Seung-won. The foundation runs social contribution activities centred on three areas: "creating culture", "nurturing talent" and "sharing hearts". Last year, it opened the "Netmarble Game Museum" at its office building in Seoul's Guro district.
A Netmarble Cultural Foundation official said the appointment was expected to translate Do's extensive management experience and leadership into expanded social contribution projects and stronger operational expertise for the game museum.
