KCC Information & Communication said on July 27 it signed a distribution agreement with global cybersecurity company Kaspersky and will move to target the domestic corporate market.

KCC Information & Communication said the agreement will strengthen its security portfolio beyond existing endpoint security to cover endpoint detection and response (EDR), operational technology (OT) security and Linux server security.

It will first step up proposals for EDR-Optimum to customers using Kaspersky entry licences (Select, Next EDR Foundation) and to companies considering adopting EDR products. EDR-Optimum can trace ransomware entry routes, or root cause, by switching a licence key without reinstalling the agent, and it can expand EDR functions without additional hardware.

For OT security, it plans to focus on proposals that support building a protection system with a single vendor product line, spanning IT environments such as design office PCs and OT environments such as factory production lines. It also plans to focus on security proposals that can identify unauthorised asset connections, vulnerability detection and abnormal control commands through industrial protocol analysis, even in closed networks isolated from outside connections.

KCC Information & Communication plans to use the distribution agreement to build a business foundation that goes beyond simply supplying products, including technical proposals tailored to customer environments, market development and strengthened partner collaboration.

Kyung-tae Yoo (유경태), chief executive of KCC Information & Communication, said, “Recent security threats have limits in being addressed with approaches focused only on simple blocking.” He added, “We will support security upgrades that customers can feel in the field through a system that goes beyond existing anti-virus and endpoint protection to cover EDR, OT and server security.”
