[Digital Today reporter Sangyeop Oh] Mirae Asset Securities' retirement pension reserves increased by about 9.6 trillion won in the second quarter this year. It was the largest rise among all retirement pension providers.

Mirae Asset Securities said on July 27 that its reserves increased by 9.58 trillion won in the second quarter this year, based on retirement pension reserve disclosures by the Financial Supervisory Service.

Over the same period, reserves in the overall retirement pension market increased by 45.14 trillion won. Mirae Asset Securities' share of the total increase was tallied at 21.2 percent.

The cumulative increase in reserves in the first half was about 14 trillion won. That was up 36.5 percent compared with reserves at the start of the year. Reserves rose by about 4 trillion won in the first quarter and about 10 trillion won in the second quarter.

Total pension assets, combining retirement pensions and personal pensions, stood at 80.81 trillion won as of end-June. Customer gains were tallied at 24.61 trillion won.

Last month, it set up a committee to enhance pension customer value. Each month, the committee selects investment content and investment ideas and provides tailored guidance to customers whose assets are concentrated in specific products or whose returns are weak.

A Mirae Asset Securities official said, "This increase in reserves reflects not only inflows of new funds but also growth in customer assets."
