Webcash has built its research administration integrated system, rERP, for Korean Register and KATRI Testing Laboratory in succession, expanding its business area beyond university industry-academia cooperation foundations to testing, inspection and certification bodies and research-focused hospitals.

Webcash said on July 27 it completed the rERP rollout at KATRI Testing Laboratory recently, following Korean Register in March.

rERP is a platform that supports managing research administration tasks in a single system, including research project management, research funding disbursement, budgeting and accounting, HR and payroll, research outcomes, intellectual property management and links with dedicated agencies.

Webcash explained it reflects changes in systems related to research funding management, including the Act on the Innovation of National Research and Development, the research support system evaluation, and guidelines from government ministries and dedicated agencies, so staff can handle tasks in line with relevant standards.

Webcash carried out the build over about 6 months and opened the system this month. KATRI Testing Laboratory integrated its previously dispersed research project and budget management systems and standardised research administration procedures through the adoption.

Webcash is expanding its business area to research-focused hospitals as well as testing and certification bodies.

It is building rERP for the Medical Technology Cooperation Group at Kyung Hee University Hospital and plans to officially open it in the second half of this year. Webcash sees the completed project as the first case of introducing a research administration integrated system to a medical technology cooperation group at a research-focused hospital.

Se-eok Oh (오세억), a director at Webcash, said, "Based on the research administration experience accumulated at university industry-academia cooperation foundations, we are expanding the scope of application to Korean Register, KATRI Testing Laboratory and medical technology cooperation groups at research-focused hospitals." He added, "We will support research funding management and research administration tasks in response to changes in research administration systems and the work characteristics of each institution."
