KT M Mobile said on Thursday that its global eSIM roaming service, Mobi, won a main prize at the 2026 Red Dot Design Award, which it described as one of the world's three major design awards.

Mobi is an eSIM data roaming service that KT M Mobile launched in December last year. It can be used in 59 countries, and users can buy products with identity verification without signing up.

It lets users keep receiving calls and texts on their existing number without changing their current USIM, while using eSIM for data. The app's "Easy Registration" feature allows users to register an eSIM with one button. It also provides real-time data usage checks, gifting and year-round customer consultations.

Mobi also introduced an industry-first "Activation Check" feature that lets users confirm in South Korea before departure whether overseas data networks have been activated properly. It is designed to allow users to check in advance for connection problems that may occur after arriving abroad.

KT M Mobile said Mobi received positive evaluations at this year's Red Dot Design Award for improving convenience by implementing complex procedures such as eSIM registration and settings, and activation confirmation, through an intuitive interface.

Byun Seok-joo (변석주), an executive director and head of KT M Mobile's Business Operations Division, said, "I am glad that our efforts to improve customer convenience have been recognized." He said the company will continue to develop the service so that even customers using eSIM roaming for the first time can use it easily and intuitively.

KT M Mobile also said that to coincide with the summer vacation season, it will offer unlimited data products for Japan, China, Vietnam and Taiwan at 990 won per day until Aug. 15.
