Nexthrus officially launched on Thursday its strategy simulation game (SLG) Frost Kingdom, which it publishes exclusively.
The new title is the first that Nexthrus is publishing directly, and it bills itself as the world’s first Web3 SLG. It combines a medieval-themed strategy simulation genre with a merge system that develops buildings and troops by combining them, in an effort to differentiate itself, it said.
Frost Kingdom features a system for collecting and developing about 100 types of units and heroes across four grades. The game will be released across multiple platforms including OneStore, iOS, Android and PC.
The service will be operated in two versions: a domestic version for general users and a global version combining blockchain functions. It also supports HTML5, allowing immediate play in a web browser environment without a separate program installation process.
The global version applies tokenomics in which in-game goods and blockchain are organically linked. The game token $RDIA is designed to be mutually convertible with Red Dia, a core in-game currency. Nexthrus limited the token’s maximum issuance to 500,000 to maintain currency value stability and increase scarcity.
It also introduced a reward structure that allocates 5 percent of total game revenue to a reward pool. Users can obtain ONEUSD, a common currency unit for the ecosystem, in proportion to their holdings simply by storing $RDIA.
The new title will be fully integrated from launch with Nexthrus’ ONE full-stack ecosystem. Users can complete missions and receive rewards on the OneQuest quest platform. Domestic users will receive OneStore points, while global users will receive the ONE token, respectively.
The company also set up an environment through the Onewave streamer platform that allows anyone to participate as a creator. Users can produce game guides and gameplay videos, and will be rewarded based on their contribution to activating the game ecosystem.
Nexthrus CEO Hyun-kuk Jang (장현국) said, "SLGs are a genre with proven global box-office potential, combining resources, territorial competition and alliance strategy." He added, "Starting with Frost Kingdom, we will continue to expand the game lineup so that games across various genres can meet users on the ONE platform."
