LG Uplus won the top prize for Instagram at Social i-Awards 2026 after its content competitiveness was recognised, its first time to take the highest honour. It followed efforts to strengthen a magazine-style feed and customer participatory content.

LG Uplus said on Thursday it won four awards, including the Instagram top prize and a KIPFA special prize for LinkedIn, at Social i-Awards 2026 hosted by the Korea Internet Professional Association (KIPFA) and organised by the i-Awards Committee.

Social i-Awards is an awards event that selects best practices in internet branding, information services and digital content using social media platforms.

LG Uplus received the Instagram top prize, the LinkedIn KIPFA special prize, the TikTok grand prize in the information services category and the newsroom grand prize in the communications category at the event. It marked a second straight year of winning four awards.

Its Instagram channel won the top prize after being highly rated for strengthening a magazine-style feed and customer participatory content in line with a brand renewal. Total content interactions rose 528 percent from a year earlier as it expanded customer touchpoints with content linked to brand campaigns.

This is the first time LG Uplus has won the top prize at Social i-Awards. In 2024, it won one innovation award and three category awards, and last year it won one integrated award and three category awards.

The company said the awards recognise the results of reshaping its social media channels around customer experience based on the brand slogan "Simply. U+". LG Uplus said it built content strategies suited to each channel’s characteristics and focused on linking brand messages to customers’ daily lives.

LinkedIn revamped its channel around AI transformation and technology leadership content. Average interactions rose 331 percent from a year earlier after it expanded newsletter-style content and technology-focused content.

TikTok expanded short-form content and collaborations with creators to widen touchpoints with younger users. The newsroom strengthened brand stories and AI and technology content and improved user experience. Newsroom visitors rose 513 percent from a year earlier and page views increased 280 percent.

Hee-jin Kim (김희진), head of the brand marketing team at LG Uplus, said the award reflects its continued release of content that customers can relate to and take part in. "We will continue to expand customer-centric brand experiences and maintain differentiated communication across various digital channels," Kim said.
