JB Financial Group posted a controlling shareholders' net profit of 219.6 billion won in the second quarter, a record for a second quarter. JB Woori Capital drove the performance.

JB Financial said on Wednesday its second-quarter controlling shareholders' net profit rose 5.7 percent from a year earlier to 219.6 billion won. First-half net profit totalled 385.7 billion won, the highest level on record.

Return on equity, a profitability gauge, came in at 13.0 percent and return on assets at 1.07 percent.

The cost-to-income ratio stood at 36.9 percent, helped by operating revenue growth and cost control. The common equity Tier 1 ratio was provisionally calculated at 12.52 percent.

Among major subsidiaries, Jeonbuk Bank posted net profit of 54.6 billion won and Gwangju Bank 85.6 billion won. JB Woori Capital earned net profit of 104.1 billion won.

JB Asset Management and JB Investment posted net profit of 400 million won and 2.3 billion won, respectively. PPCBank in Cambodia recorded net profit of 14.0 billion won.

JB Financial Holdings' board decided on a quarterly cash dividend of 314 won per common share and a 100 billion won share buyback and cancellation. The 314 won per share is the highest quarterly dividend in the company's history.

A JB Financial Holdings official said it would continue to pursue shareholder return policies based on stable capital ratios to work on boosting corporate value.
