Mirae Asset Global Investments' two exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking major U.S. benchmark indices have surpassed 30 trillion won in combined net assets.

Mirae Asset Global Investments said on July 22 that the combined net assets of the TIGER U.S. S&P 500 ETF and the TIGER U.S. Nasdaq 100 ETF have exceeded 30 trillion won.

According to the Korea Exchange, as of the July 21 close, the combined net assets of the two products were tallied at 30.99 trillion won. That is more than half of the total net assets of all ETFs listed on the domestic market that track major U.S. benchmark indices.

Retail investor funds also concentrated in the two products. The combined net retail buying that flowed into the TIGER U.S. S&P 500 and the TIGER U.S. Nasdaq 100 this year through July 21 totalled 5.34 trillion won.

That is more than half of retail net buying in all domestically listed major U.S. benchmark index ETFs over the same period.

According to Mirae Asset Global Investments, the two products are also the largest among related ETFs listed in Asia. They rank 2nd and 3rd, respectively, by net assets among all ETFs listed in South Korea.

As the domestic stock market has recently repeated sharp rises and falls centered on the semiconductor sector, demand for overseas asset allocation is also expanding. Among pension investors, demand continues to add major U.S. benchmark index ETFs centered on large-cap blue-chip stocks to reduce volatility in specific sectors and stocks.

Kim Sang-yul (김상율), head of the Global ETF Management Division at Mirae Asset Global Investments, said, "We will continue to support domestic investors' global asset allocation and asset building."
