Hancom Innostream, a subsidiary of Hancom, said on Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Hallym University to cooperate on training AI and digital innovation talent.

The two sides plan to expand cooperation from short-term training and company-issue-based projects to long-term education programmes and joint curriculum development.

In August, they will jointly run the "Nvidia DLI (Deep Learning Institute) Fundamentals of Deep Learning" global certification training. Hancom Innostream, as an accredited Nvidia DLI training centre, will provide global-level practical AI training and an official certification programme based on its accumulated AI education expertise.

The two sides plan to operate step-by-step curricula centred on the latest AI technologies, including generative AI and deep learning, taking into account students' majors and career paths, and to strengthen practical AI capabilities required in industrial settings.

The project results will be used as students' job portfolios and will be linked to career and employment support programmes such as company visits, mentoring by working professionals, field training and internships.

Kim Yeon-su (김연수), chief executive of Hancom Innostream, said "AI education should not stop at learning the latest technologies but should also connect to experiences solving problems in industrial settings." He added, "Based on Nvidia DLI global certification training and corporate projects, we will continue to expand a practical AI talent development model that connects universities and industry."
