Agentic AI startup FortyTwoMaru said on Tuesday it will lead the Korea Deposit Insurance Corp's project to upgrade its data management system and build generative AI services, as it moves to upgrade the platform and roll out services.
The company said the project is the first-year programme to create core infrastructure and the first step in KDIC's three-year AI transformation (AX) roadmap. As the lead company, FortyTwoMaru formed a consortium with public and financial AI cloud specialist Klavvy and data governance specialist GTOne. It plans to introduce a public-sector AX platform that combines generative AI technology, enterprise-wide data assetisation and strong risk-management governance.
The project will focus on three broad areas: introducing AI services for the public and internal use, building an enterprise-wide data catalogue and establishing an AI risk management system.
FortyTwoMaru will implement a hybrid RAG architecture optimised for public and financial-sector work. It will be based on an integrated platform that includes retrieval-augmented generation (RAG42), machine reading comprehension (MRC42) and various language models.
It will combine Klavvy's public cloud (CSAP) infrastructure and security capabilities with GTOne's know-how in integrated metadata and data quality management solutions. It aims to meet KDIC's security and data governance standards.
Dong-hwan Kim (김동환), chief executive of FortyTwoMaru, said, "As KDIC is a key institution in the national financial safety net, the standards required for AI answer reliability and data security are higher than in any other project." He added, "Together with consortium partners who have the deepest understanding of the KDIC system environment, we will safely lead KDIC's AX innovation and the establishment of a digital work culture from start to finish."
